Having spent my working life with large firms, the challenge of being part of a fintech start-up was irresistible. Payen provided me with the opportunity to use my finance, treasury and risk expertise to build out a dedicated team covering finance, governance, risk and compliance. The enthusiasm and commitment of Richard and Sandy when I first met them was infectious, and I wanted to have a key role in the successful growth of Payen.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, I worked for seven years at Glaxo Wellcome in various finance and treasury roles. I then spent over fifteen years at KPMG where I was a Director in the Treasury Advisory team based in Canary Wharf, working on treasury and technology projects for leading multinational organisations around the world.
At Payen, I am the Chief Financial Officer and also responsible for risk and compliance. I am passionate about developing our people and providing the best customer service to our clients. Having worked in professional services and industry, I can balance the needs of both to deliver the best solutions to our clients.
Outside work, I spend time with my family and follow the ups and downs of Crystal Palace football club.
Following a career in military and civil aviation, I joined a dotcom incubator where I invested in early stage tech businesses.
My journey into the payments industry started in the early 2000s when I joined Monex Financial Products (a DCC company) as General Counsel.
Prior to founding Payen with Sandy, I spent the first 12 years of my working career in the City of London, specialising in complex software systems for financial markets.
